Two unidentified men on Tuesday threw ink at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The two were detained by police. Reacting to the ink attack, Kejriwal took to Twitter wishing the attackers well. “Hmmm… God bless those who threw ink at me. I wish them well,” Kejriwal tweeted.
This wasn’t the first time the chief minister was targeted. While campaigning in Varanasi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he was attacked with ink during a roadshow. An autorickshaw driver also threw ink at him before AAP swept to power in Delhi. Kejriwal, in fact, met the driver at his residence and received an apology for the mischief.
On September 19, a man threw ink at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, outside Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s residence in Civil Lines. Days after the attack, sources told The Indian Express that Delhi Police had sent an ‘incident report’ to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and sought its opinion on increasing the security provided to the deputy chief minister.
More details awaited.
